LEATHER DEEP CLEANING & CONDITIONING ACROSS ESSEX

As mentioned elsewhere on this site, I’ve been in the upholstery trade since 1979. I’ve adapted what I specialise in over the past 30 years and now focus on mobile repairs and restoration of domestic soft furnishings in most parts of Essex.. especially leather.

Within that category I also have a department that deep cleans and conditions leather sofas and chairs. That department is called Lisa. We met 17 years ago and when she admitted to me that she had OCD when it comes to cleaning, I married her and made her a business partner!

Lisa now has over 15 years’ experience cleaning and conditioning leather furniture by hand, using specialist products and no machines. The results can be seen in the before and after pictures on our gallery page.

Leather on modern furniture comes in many different finishes and qualities. We specialise in deep cleaning, restoring and conditioning most leather types. Many leather sofas and chairs are finished with a protective lacquer over the pigmented colour, which helps everyday spills wipe away more easily. Over time, this lacquer can wear off in high-use areas. Once the colour starts to wear too, the exposed leather can quickly become soiled, tired and vulnerable to further damage.

These worn areas can often be prepared, re-pigmented and lacquered to restore the look of the furniture and help extend its life. High-wear areas can spoil an otherwise good-looking suite, but in many cases, we can bring it back to its best.

When Lisa is not deep cleaning and conditioning leather furniture, she often joins me on repair and restoration jobs, where together we clean, repair and restore sofas and chairs that are looking past their best.
